Your birthing journey is sacred. I provide emotional, educational, physical, and psychological support throughout the fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum periods of your birthing journey. This offering is a full spectrum approach to (w)holistic wellness. I provide personalized care, education, advocacy, and services so you can feel empowered and confident. My approach is ground in a rich tradiont of safety, love, and respect.
What a Wholistic Doula DOES Provide:
- Non-judgmental and unbiased support for the expectant person and family before, during, and after birth
- Non-medical support and referring any medical or clinical matters to the doctor or midwife
- Warm companionship and presence, building trust with the pregnant person and family leading up to and during the birth process
- Guidance and educational tools to help the pregnant person and family make informed choices
- Leadership, vision, and preparation of your desired birth
- Deep listening and allowing the pregnant person and family to fully express their own needs and desires
- A safe sacred space for the pregnant person to enter the birth
- Advocacy for all birthing clients
- Respect for your cultural practices
- Understanding that birth disparities exist in communities of color and advocating for under-served underestimated and at risk clients
- A tool kit of holistic comfort measures to help assist the birth process
- Education and encouragement for the partner (if applicable) to participate at their level of comfort
- Breast-feeding and educational tools to help with breast-feeding success
- Encouragement that breast-feeding is established within an hour postpartum
- Preparation for the pregnant client for holistic postpartum care and recovery
- Practitioner referrals to vetted professionals when necessary
- Full Respect for client privacy and non-disclosure of birth details
- Assess needs for mental health/emotional or physical postpartum support
- Nature-based self-care techniques to fortify yourself
A Natural Birth Labor Doula DOES NOT:
- Diagnose medical conditions
- Interpret medical diagnoses nor clinical results
- Prescribe or administer treatment of medical conditions
- Perform clinical procedures including taking infants temperature or administering medications to infant or mother
- Judge a client or situation
- Take over complete care of the infant
- Transport any family members
- Stay alone with babies or other children
